Graham turned 3 last week!
How does this happen? I still haven’t grasped the fact that I have a kid, let alone a 3 year old. But alas, everyday I am reminded that I have a crazy little boy in my house. Well, I have two, but we will only talk about this one since it was his birthday. 🙂
We moved into our new house on a Monday and Wednesday was his birthday. He was in school that day so I got to take him lunch, Chick-Fil-A of course, and a birthday cake.
His few favorite shows are Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Curious George and Daniel Tiger. Mickey Mouse has been a big hit with him for a while and thanks to Pinterest I found the perfect “cake” to make. I am a tired, pregnant momma so honestly the whole 3 tier, fondant cake that I made last year just wasn’t in the cards this go around. Sorry I’m not sorry. A girl has limits. 🙂 But I did stay up until 10:30 pm the night before his birthday to make it, so there was some sacrifice involved!
Here are a couple pictures from the day. Also, apparently, it isn’t cool to just stand still and take a normal picture for mom. So I gave up. Welcome to life with my goofy little Graham.
I can’t even with this kid. These pictures went something like,
Me: OK Graham, let’s get a picture with Mommy before you go into school.
Me: Sigh, because it’s your birthday and I want one!
I came back to school and brought him lunch and his cake to share with his friends! And I was so happy and proud to be able to spend time with him in the middle of his day. I hope he lets me come eat with him on his birthday until he’s at least 25.
Then I attempted to make a 3 ingredient ice cream. Either I have a piece of crap blender or all of the Pinterest world is lying to me. It was more like pudding by the time it was all over but he didn’t know the difference. Kids are so forgiving at this age, thank goodness!
Then we opened presents and helped Daddy put together your new bunk bed. I love Ikea but holy 1000 parts and screws!
You have so much energy! You are like a tornado all of the time but you have so much love and you are so sweet to your little brother and friends. You tell me that my hair is pretty(when I least expect it) and say “I love you” without me saying it first!
You love the beach! When I ask what you would like to do for the day, you’re first response is, “Go to the beach!” You are my kid no doubt buddy! You like to help me in the kitchen and play with play-doh.
You wake up in the morning and have to watch your show before you can be a normal human. I don’t blame you, I’m not great in the morning either. You hate bedtime and will do anything to stall. Including but not limited to, “I need water!!” (for the 20th time in 10 minutes) and reading the Dr. Seuss book “one more time”. Also, as of late you ask me to “cuddle” with you before I leave for the night. Geez, way to pull at the heart strings, kid. So I do. Unless I don’t feel well but I try to soak up any chance I get to be with you when you are being still.
Daddy is still your favorite person. You love to ride in his car, go on walks or ride in the wagon and help him with whatever project he is working on.
When I asked you what you wanted for your birthday you said, “Cars and dump trucks.” I guess you can never have too many of those! Although, the watch that Grandmother and Poppy sent you was probably your favorite birthday present because it was “just like daddy’s”.
You are my baby but growing up into your own little person and I love it. I hope I never hold you back!
We love you little one!
